Terms and conditions
Last updated: 28 October 2026
These terms apply to your use of goremit.in and to every order you place with us online, by phone, on WhatsApp or at a branch. GoRemit (goremit.in) is operated by Aabhushan Forex & Jewels Private Limited, RBI FFMC Licence No. MUM-FFMC-1041-2023. By placing an order you accept these terms, our privacy notice, our cancellation and refund policy and our delivery policy.
1. Who you are dealing with
Currency notes: we buy and sell them ourselves, as an RBI-licensed Full Fledged Money Changer. Forex cards: we sell, reload and encash cards as an agent of the issuing bank or card company; the card itself is governed by the issuer's terms, fees and dispute process, which come in your card kit. Money transfers abroad: we only help you prepare the request and refer it to an authorised dealer (AD Category-I) bank. The bank decides whether to accept it and carries it out; your money goes straight from your account to the bank, never to us, and we charge you nothing for the referral.
2. Who can order
- Individuals must be resident in India, at least 18 years old and hold a valid PAN. Forex for a minor is booked by a parent or lawful guardian, with the minor's documents.
- Companies, firms, LLPs and trusts may order for business travel of their directors and employees after we have verified the organisation's KYC.
- Foreign exchange is sold only for purposes permitted under FEMA and the Liberalised Remittance Scheme (LRS), up to USD 2,50,000 per person per financial year across all banks and money changers. You confirm the purpose and your LRS usage in a declaration (Form A2 or equivalent) and are responsible for its truth.
- For travel, we can sell forex up to 60 days before your departure.
3. Rates and quotes
Rates move through the day with the market. Rates on the website are indicative until you pay; the rate that applies is the one shown when your payment succeeds. Paying in full, or paying the refundable 2% booking deposit (available on every order — currency notes, forex cards, selling to us and transfers), holds the rate for 2 hours (24 hours for transfers). If the order amount is not paid, or documents are not given, within that time, we may cancel the order or re-price it at the current rate (see the refund policy). In very unusual market conditions, or if a rate was shown in obvious error, we may decline to honour it and will refund you in full.
4. Amounts, denominations and stock
Currency notes are sold in whole notes, so amounts are rounded to the nearest multiple of the smallest note we deal in for that currency (for example EUR in multiples of 5, JPY in multiples of 1,000). Forex cards are loaded in whole units. The amount you pay is rounded to the nearest rupee and the round-off is shown in your quote.
We hand over notes in the denominations we have in stock; you cannot choose them, and an order cannot be refused or cancelled because of the mix of notes. Your order is for a currency and amount. If, after you book, we do not have enough of a currency, we may reduce or change the amount to what is in stock and will tell you before handover; the difference is refunded to the account you paid from, or adjusted as you choose.
Foreign currency notes are limited to USD 3,000 equivalent per traveller per trip; the rest can be carried on a forex card. On return, unspent foreign exchange must be sold back or used as FEMA allows (residents may keep a limited amount of notes for future trips).
5. Documents and KYC
We must identify every customer under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 and the RBI Master Directions on KYC and money changing. You agree to give true, complete and current documents, and to show the originals at handover. We may ask for more documents, verify them with the issuing authority or a central KYC registry, and screen names against sanctions lists. We may refuse, hold or cancel any order where documents are missing, do not match, or where we suspect misuse, and we may report transactions to the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU-IND) as the law requires — we are not allowed to tell you when we do.
6. Payment
Individuals must pay from their own bank account (UPI, net banking, NEFT/RTGS/IMPS, or a debit or credit card in their own name). Company orders must be paid from the company's own bank account. Payments from anyone else are refused and returned to the source. Cash is accepted at a branch only up to ₹49,999 per transaction, and part-cash, part-bank payments are not accepted. Online payments go through our payment gateways (Cashfree Payments and Razorpay); we never see or store card numbers. When you pay online by net banking or a Visa / Mastercard debit or credit card, the gateway's charge for that method, plus GST, is added to the amount and shown to you before you pay; UPI, RuPay debit cards and bank transfers (NEFT / RTGS / IMPS) carry no such charge. Orders are processed only after the money reaches our account.
7. Taxes
GST is charged on the value of currency conversion under Rule 32(2)(b) of the CGST Rules, and on our service charges. Tax Collected at Source (TCS) under section 394 of the Income-tax Act, 2025 applies to individuals where their LRS total for the year crosses the threshold; it is credited against your PAN and appears in your annual tax statement. Every quote shows GST and TCS separately before you pay.
8. Handover
Currency and cards are handed over only to the traveller named in the order (or, for company orders, to the traveller or a person the company authorises in writing), after checking original documents and taking the signed declaration. Please count the notes and check the card in front of our staff; we cannot accept claims about the amount once you have accepted it. Details are in our delivery policy.
9. Business accounts
The organisation is responsible for everyone it allows to sign in, for keeping its traveller details accurate, and for the declarations its users make. We may suspend an account where KYC lapses or we suspect misuse.
10. Messages from us
You agree that we may contact you by phone, SMS, WhatsApp and email about your orders, KYC and legal matters. Offers and rate alerts are sent only if you opt in, and you can opt out at any time.
11. Using this website
Do not misuse the website — for example by placing orders for someone else without their consent, uploading false documents, scraping it with automated tools, or trying to break its security. The content, design and logo belong to Aabhushan Forex & Jewels Private Limited and may not be copied without permission. Guides and calculators are general information, not financial or tax advice.
12. Liability
We are responsible for carrying out your order with reasonable care and skill. Our total liability for an order is limited to the amount you paid us for it. We are not liable for losses from exchange-rate movements after handover, for the acts of card issuers, banks or other third parties, or for indirect losses. Nothing here limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 that cannot be limited by contract.
13. Events outside our control
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as natural disasters, strikes, bank or network outages, government or regulatory action, or market suspensions. If an order cannot be completed for such a reason, we refund what you paid.
14. Changes, law and disputes
We may update these terms; the version on the website when you place an order applies to that order. These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Mumbai have exclusive jurisdiction. Before going to court, please use our grievance process — most problems are solved there quickly.
