Send money to the UK
Transfers in British pounds for students paying university deposits and fees, families supporting relatives living in the UK, and gifts — through our authorised partner bank, with the live rate and every charge shown before you pay.
What the receiver in UK must give you
- Receiver's full name and address
- Account number (8 digits) and sort code (6 digits), or the IBAN (starts with GB)
- Bank name and SWIFT / BIC code
Check the details with our SWIFT, IBAN and bank-code checker before you book — a wrong digit is the usual reason a transfer is delayed or returned.
Purposes and documents
| Purpose | Key documents |
|---|---|
| University fees | Fee invoice or admission letter, student passport, PAN |
| Student living costs | Admission letter, student passport and visa, PAN |
| Supporting a close relative | Proof of relationship, PAN, address proof |
| Gift to a close relative | Proof of relationship, PAN, address proof |
| Medical treatment | Hospital estimate or invitation, patient's passport |
The sender and the receiver can never be the same person for a family or gift transfer. The partner bank has the final say on documents.
Studying in UK
UK universities ask for a deposit before issuing the CAS, and the CAS shows what has been paid. Pay from the account of the student or a parent, quote the student ID, and keep the payment advice — the visa application may ask for it.
Good to know
- Payments to UK accounts arrive in pounds. If the receiver's account is in another currency, their bank converts it at its own rate.
- A transfer to a UK account usually reaches the same or next working day after our partner bank sends it.
Who sends the money
Aabhushan Forex & Jewels Private Limited is an RBI-licensed money changer and does not send money abroad itself. Your transfer is carried out by RBL Bank Ltd or another of our authorised partners; you pay them directly and the money never passes through us. See how we keep your money safe.
Common questions
How do I send money to the UK from India?
Book the transfer online with GoRemit: choose the purpose, enter the amount in British pounds and upload your documents. Once we check them, you pay our partner bank directly from your own account and it sends the money by SWIFT.
How much can I send to the UK?
A resident individual can send up to USD 2,50,000 a financial year under the Liberalised Remittance Scheme, across all banks and money changers together.
What does it cost?
The exchange rate, the partner bank's charges, GST on the conversion and any TCS — all shown in the quote above before you pay. GoRemit charges you nothing for arranging the transfer.
Do I need the IBAN or the sort code?
Either works for a UK account. The IBAN contains the sort code and account number, so it avoids typing errors — use it when the receiver can share it.
